About me
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Educational Science at the Norwegian Reading Centre (National Center for Reading and Research), University of Stavanger. I have twenty years of experience as L1 teacher in upper secondary school. I also have experience as book reviewer, supervisor for teacher students in practice and librarian teacher.
My research
My research field is adolescents and reading, reading engagement, and literature teaching in upper secondary school. In my doctoral thesis I investigate teachers’ and students’ perceptions on engagement in reading fiction in the L1 subject in upper secondary school in a digital age. The thesis consists of three sub-studies: (1) Focus group interviews with L1 teachers in upper secondary school, (2) classroom observation of a reading project at an upper secondary school and (3) interviews with students.
Academic background
I have background from Nordic Language and Literature and PPU (Practical Pedagogical Education) at NTNU in Trondheim. My Master's Degree was in Nordic literature: A study of Dag Solstads novel Irr! Grønt! as visual text.
