Mikrososiologi (BSS285)

Hensikten med dette kurset er å introdusere studenter for studiet av mirososiologi, et forskningsområde også kjent som sosiologisk sosialpsykologi. Studentene skal lese klassiske arbeide innenfor dette forskningsområdet, og deretter bli introdusert for nyere og spennende litteratur innenfor dette delområdet av sosiologien. Emnet skal ta for seg spørsmål knyttet til identitet, identitetsdannelse, sosialisering, kognisjon, smågruppedynamikk og sosial orden. Et sekundært mål med dette kurset er å gi studentene en bedre forståelse av egen og andres atferd og handlinger. Et tredje mål er å gi studentene kunnskap som de kan anvende i sitt arbeidsliv (for eksempel, jobbintervjuer, samarbeid, fruktbart løse konflikter, identitetskreative løsninger).

Etter å ha fullført emnet skal studenten ha oppnådd følgende læringsutbytte når det gjelder kunnskap, ferdigheter og generelle kompetanse:

Kunnskap

• Identifisere og evaluere de sentrale teoriene, begrepene og debattene som definerer feltet mikrososiologi.
• Forstå hvordan mikrososiologi kan brukes i arbeidslivet.

Ferdigheter

• Kunne forholde deg kritisk og benytte sosiologisk fantasi når du vurderer arten og rollen til mikroprosesser i det sosiale livet.
• Formulere forskningsspørsmål som er basert på forståelsen av litteraturen gjennomgått i kurset.
• Anvende funn og innsikter fra sosiologisk sosialpsykologi i arbeidslivet.

Generell kompetanse

• Reflektere over hvordan sosiologiske begreper fra kurset er relevante for studentens sjanser, handlinger, fremtidige karriere og livskvalitet.

Kurset består av forelesninger og smågruppeseminarer. Studiekrav: Aktiv deltakelse i seminarene. Det forventes at alle studenter vil holde seg oppdatert på de tildelte lesningene og aktivt og innsiktsfullt delta i diskusjonene. Det er viktig at studentene leser litteraturen før hver forelesning og hvert seminar.

Evaluering av emnet skjer i tråd med kvalitetssystemet ved Universitetet i Stavanger.
