Kurset vil problematisere og drøfte hvordan profesjonsutøvere kan både arbeide med og samarbeide med barn i både utdannings- og velferdsinstitusjoner med utgangspunkt i ulike sosialpedagogiske perspektiver, blant annet dialogisme og kritisk pedagogikk. Inkludering av barn er nedfelt både i sosialpolitiske og juridiske føringer for oppvekst- og velferdstjenester. Kurset vil trekke veksler på nyere forskning på samarbeid mellom barn og profesjonelle. Formålet med tematikken er å drøfte utfordringer knyttet til samarbeid med barn innenfor ulike institusjonelle rammer. Emnet vil ivareta UiS og NTNUs satsing på bærekraftig utvikling og relaterer seg til FNs bærekraftsmål pkt.10.2 (fremme inkludering uavhengig av alder, kjønn og funksjonshemming), pkt. 16.6 (effektive, ansvarlige og åpne institusjoner) og pkt. 16.7 (lydhørhet, inkluderende, deltakerbaserte og representative beslutningsprosesser på alle nivå).

Kandidaten er i kunnskapsfronten innenfor sosialpedagogikk og behersker vitenskapteoretiske perspektiver og metoder knyttet til sosialpedagogisk praksis, arbeidet og samarbeid med barn Kandidaten kan bidra til utvikling av ny kunnskap, nye teorier, innovative metoder, fortolkninger og faglige prosjekter hvor arbeid og samarbeid med barn står sentralt. Kandidaten kan vurdere hensiktsmessigheten og bruken av ulike tidsaktuelle og innovative metoder og prosesser i forskning og faglige prosjekter ut ifra kunnskap om EUs strategidokumenter, FNs bærekraftsmål og ulike innovative faglige og vitenskapsteoretiske perspektiver knyttet til arbeid og samarbeid med barn. Individuell skriftlig oppgave på 4000 ord, basert på godkjent abstrakt. Oppgaven skal omhandle eget valgt tema med utgangspunkt i pensumlitteraturen.
Varighet: innlevering av oppgaven er en måned etter kursets slutt.

Obligatorisk deltakelse 80%
Obligatorisk deltakelse minimum 80% og godkjent abstrakt for individuell skriftlige oppgave

Undervisning foregår over 3 dager med forelesninger, diskusjoner og aktive læringsformer. Egenstudier som inkluderer lesing av pensumet og skriftlig arbeid med abstraktet kan beregnes på minst tre uker.
Emnet kan undervises på norsk eller engelsk.
Undervisningen kan bli avlyst eller endret dersom det er færre enn 5 påmeldte og/eller Institutt for sosialt arbeid/forskerskolen ikke har undervisningskapasitet.

Emnet er åpent for ph.d.- kandidater på ph.d.-programmet i samfunnsvitenskap, ph.d.-kandidater fra andre programmer ved UIS eller fra andre universiteter og høgskoler.
Emneevaluering
Det skal være en tidligdialog mellom emneansvarlig, studenttillitsvalgt og studentene. Formålet er tilbakemelding fra studentene for endringer og justering i emnet inneværende semester.I tillegg skal det gjennomføres en digital emneevaluering minimum hvert tredje år. Den har som formål å innhente studentenes erfaringer med emnet.
