The course consists of 3 parts:
- Participate in two online seminars in March / April (duration: 1,5-2 hrs each)
- Participate actively in a physical seminar in April with students and teachers from four countries in one of these countries (duration of the seminar: 7 days)
- Contribute in a group assignment together with other Norwegian students after the physical seminar (evaluation: passed or not passed)
Learning outcome
A candidate with a completed and passed course should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge:
Have basic knowledge about global diversity within the social work profession in terms of methods, theory, laws and approaches.
Skills:
Learn to reflect upon different perspectives on social work, and internationalize the way of seeing the social work profession and its work.
Developing skills in working together with students from other countries in a culture sensitive way.
General competence:
Gain insight into problems that social work addresses that are common across different societies, and learn about global diversity in the social work profession in terms of methods, theory, laws, and approaches. The students will learn to examine and appreciate the diversities within Europe.
