Content

Materials that are included as load-bearing parts of structures in building and construction.

Relevant materials are: concrete, steel, aluminum, timber, brick, stone, asphalt.

Particularly for concrete, considerations are given to proportioning, ingredients, production, conditions during hardening, and properties of the finished concrete.

Learning outcome

After completing the course, the student will have a basic understanding and knowledge of the use of building materials in constructions.

Coursework requirements

All compulsory lab assignments (in total 2) must be approved in order to take the exam. Lab assignments have compulsory attendance and written reports must be approved.

Method of work
