The course builds on DAT230 Communication Technology 1. Key topics will be routing, WAN, LAN switching, routing protocols and expansion of IP address space. After completing DAT230, DAT300, and additional independent studies may lead to Cisco CCNA certification.

The course builds on DAT230 Communication Technology 1. This course provides an introduction to how local area networks (LANs) are made by utilizing modern switching technology. The last part of the course shows how local business networks can be linked together, even though there are considerable geographical distances between the local networks (WAN).
After completing DAT230, DAT300 and additional independent specialization may lead to the Cisco CCNA certification.
Learning outcome
After completing the course the student will be able to: The behaviors of a communication network and being able to adjust scalability as required. Network Technology and the principles for operating a communications network
Skills: The candidate will be able to implement IP addressing and IP services in a communication network. The candidate will be able to configure and troubleshoot VLAN switches. The candidate will be able to conduct computer technical operation and routing on Cisco components. The candidate will be able to manage the Cisco IOS software for construction and troubleshooting of larger network.
General qualifications: After taking this course the candidate will be able to analyze computer network. The candidate will have sufficient expertise to managing a communications network and make assessments that are needed to improve the network performance.
