Introduction to PLC programming using ladder (LD), structured text (ST) and sequential function charts (SFC)

Learning outcome

Knowledge:- To understand the consept of programable logical control and where/when to use it.

Skills: - To be able to understand hardware logic scheme and implement a corresponding PLC-code.- To be able to configure motors accourding to hardware control logic scheme and control them using hardware equipment (relays).- To be able to use PC-software for developing PLC-code using ladder (LD), function blocks (FB), structured text (ST) og sequential function chart (SFC) for a given control problem.

General competance: After this course, the student shall understand the concept of PLC-programing.

Method of work

Weekly 5 hours lecturing and 1 hour theoretical exercises. Compulsory laboratory exercises. Mandatory work demands (such as hand in assignments, lab- assignments, projects, etc) must be approved by subject teacher three weeks ahead of examination date.
