Comenius International Week in Stavanger offers a brief introduction to educational systems in Norway. The International week offers incoming one-week guest students from the Comenius network outdoor teaching activities and using nature as a learning environment.

Learning outcome

After completed course the student will have

Knowledge about:

  • how to facilitate for childrens’ curiosity and enjoyment of nature, and how to create an understanding for environmental diversity and uniqness.
  • the significance of motion play, ecpecially risky play

Skills related to

  • facilitating exploration of the outdoor in diversity
  • facilitating various types of movement play in nature

General competence

  • ability to plan and implement nature areas and local environment as play and learning arenas.
  • ability to use and reflect upon the nature and the local environment as pedagogical space in working with children
