This is an introductory course in statistics and quantitative research methods. The course focuses on the understanding of fundamental concepts, and corresponding terminology, related to different quantitative research methods and statistical analyses.

- Know the basic concepts and principles of descriptive statistics
- Know the basic concepts and principles of bivariate analyses
- Know the basic concepts and principles of regression analyses
Skills

- Can perform descriptive analyses of a data set using SPSS and interpret the results
- Can perform the appropriate bivariate analyses of a data set in SPSS and interpret the results
- Can perform simple regression analyses of a data set in SPSS and interpret the results
General competence

- Can critically appraise the appropriateness and quality of basic statistical analyses in scientific publications

The assessment is a written school exam.
A one-sided A4 sheet with your own notes can be taken into the exam. The note can either be handwritten or printed and can be in either english or a scandinavian langauge.
