This course consists of lectures, workshops and practical assignments and covers the following areas:
  • Distant microphones recording techniques
  • Stereo sound techniques
  • Multi-channel recording (surround audio and more)
  • Close microphones recording techniques
  • Mixing and processing audio tools
  • MIDI
  • Mixing
  • Mastering

The exam is a portfolio evaluation consisting of two music productions in different genres. These will be delivered in stereo or multichannel and will be at least three minutes long per recording. In addition, the student will deliver the project file of the productions, and write a report for each.

Vilkår for å gå opp til eksamen/vurdering

Approved obligatory assignments and participation in the rehearsal productions constitute the portfolio needed as the exam and will get the grade in this course.

Method of work

Lectures, group work, tutoring, obligatory practical assignments and productions with feedback.

The students should note that subjects covered in lectures can be relevant for the evaluation/exam.

This course will sometimes demand working at unusual times. Therefore, it might be difficult to combine studying with work.
