Content
The course will lay the foundation for civil engineers' use of technical drawings by providing instruction in drawing understanding and using computerized drawing programs.
Learning outcome
- Knowing principles and standards for technical drawings in the construction industry.
- Be familiar with the interfaces and functions of CAD programs.
- Be able to create routines that handle reading and writing data to file, plotting data, both in 2D and 3D.
- Masters the basic use of the drawing programs
- Be able to design a simple building using computer tools and present professional, clear and appealing drawings.
- Be able to plan and present a project assignment in collaboration with other students, both in writing and graphically.

The evaluation consists of a single project assignment developed individually that counts for 100% of the final grade.
No re-sit opportunities are offered for project assignments. Students who do not pass this assignment can retake it the next time the course is held.

All the four mandatory assignments must be approved to be allowed to submit the final project assignment.

The course consists of a series of four exercises, which the student develops individually with support from the tutors in the data lab. Those exercises introduce the student to three CAD programs: AutoCAD, Revit, and Rhino. Completing these four activities is obligatory to present the project assignment, a small building and its urban environment, presented as a set of plans, sections, and tridimensional views.

Open course for all students with an active right to study and who meet the requirements for general university admissions certification (GSK).
Emneevaluering
There must be an early dialogue between the course supervisor, the student union representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester.In addition, a digital course evaluation must be carried out at least every three years. Its purpose is to gather the students experiences with the course.
