Concrete Technology (BYG605)
The course gives a thorough introduction to following subjects: Mix design, cement and pozzolanic materials, aggregates, admixtures, concrete mixture design, properties of fresh and hardened concrete, But also curing technology, mixing and placing of concrete, quality control and impact of creep and shrinkage will be included. Also construction methods as slipforming and also special concrete such as selfcompacting concrete(SCC) and lightweight concrete will be a part of the course.

Learning outcome
After completing this course the student will have a thorough knowledge of concrete with respect to spesial types of concrete and use of concrete, mixture design and production of concrete and properties of fresh and hardened concrete including an overview of important requirement in NS-EN 206-1.
Technical skills
- Good overview of parameters affecting the quality in fresh and hardened concrete
- Can evaluate and plan measures to improve the quality in the concrete
- Basic knowledge within repair of concrete structures
General competence
- Basic concrete technology

Vilkår for å gå opp til eksamen/vurdering
Mandatory laboratory exercises (attendance and written assignment required).
The laboratory exercise must be approved in order to take the exam. Compulsory laboratory exercise need to be approved within the given deadline.
