- The firms demand for input factors
- The effect of price changes on production
- What determines demand for a product
- The market
- When is transactions carried out in a market and when are they carried out within an organization
- Strengths and weaknesses with different organisational structures in varying contexts.
- The importance of leadership and power relations in organisations.
- Knowledge, learning and change in organisations
Learning outcome
The objective with the course is to give a basic introduction to firm and market behavior and organization theory, including where the boundaries are between activities being carried out within a firm and which activities are out-sourced.. The candidate should be able to explain how price changes influence market behavior and how changes in profitability in one industry influence other industries, why some transactions occur in a market while others take place within an organization as well as how different organizational structures meets different requirement and influence management and learning within the organization.
