Content
The well completion part deals with lower and upper completion systems. The starting point is inflow performance and thorough treatment of skin factor is given. Openhole and perforated lower completions are discussed in detail. Extra attention is given to sand control. Gas-lift and electrical submersible pumps are discussed with brief comparison to other artificial lift methods. The last segment explains completion equipment and installing the completion. Calculations include skin factor, gravel-packing and other completions scenarios. The well intervention part starts off with well mechanics including the use of effective force and Lubinski yield circle. There is theoretical emphasis on buckling of the well intervention pipe. Well intervention methods such as pumping, wireline, coiled tubing and snubbing are covered in great detail. Mechanical well failures, well productivity issues, well intervention equipment, barriers, standards and regulations, different types of operations, choice of intervention technology and various relevant calculations are discussed. Both platform and subsea well intervention methods are included.
