General statistical methods (STA903)

Depending on the research project and the background of the candidate, the following topics will be covered with varying weights: Statistical inference theory; Large sample theory; Computer intensive methods; Robust estimation and non-parametric methods; and selected topics in time series analysis, stochastic processes, survival analysis or multivariate statistics.

Learning outcome

After having completed the course the student will have knowledge about central notions and ideas in advanced statistical theory and applications. She is able to use this to understand advanced literature as a tool in her own research.
