Content

This course is for inbound students to the Faculty of Performing Arts at UiS. For inbound students, the course will mainly include performing activities aimed at the bachelor level, including principal instrument and ensemble activities. In addition, the course International Semester may also include theoretical and/or pedagogical components, but the performing area must account for at least half of the total workload. A detailed plan is documented through the Learning Agreement.

Learning outcome

Knowledge

After completing the course, the student should be able to:

  • account for expanded perspectives in relation to their own role as a performing and/or co-creating musician through having had a stay at a foreign institution

Skills

After completing the course, the student should be able to

  • demonstrate a deepened and further developed understanding of their own performance knowledge and musical expression

General competence

After completing the course, the student should be able to

  • reflect on their development and experience as a performing and/or co-creating musician through a stay at a foreign institution
  • reflect on the cultural framework under which they have worked and contextualise this in relation to themselves as a performing and/or co-creating musician

Assessment is determined individually based on the programme that the individual student completes at the faculty. The form of assessment must be specified in the learning agreement.

Method of work

Inbound students follow a study programme at the faculty, either by joining an existing programme or by the institution organising a programme specifically for the individual student.

Inbound students are assigned a supervisor at UiS, who follows up on their work during their stay abroad.
