Digital Transformation in the Service Industries (BDS100)
This course gives an introduction and overview over successful and less successful digital transformation processes in the service industries. The course will give insights and understandings that are present in the development of an integrated and phased approach to digital transformation. It provides a framework for how service companies continually build the competencies, capabilities and momentum required to establish and sustain as a digital business actor.
The course will focus how digital transformation is helpful in managing the organizational transformations in the form of people and processes. Thereby how to define and recognize disruption in its various forms with the most common disruption strategies. Further, it will introduce the legal and ethical considerations that surround digital business practices like privacy and data protection. Finally, this course intends to give the students a clear understanding of how machine learning algorithms can contribute to make better decisions that involve complex and incomplete data by engaging students in peer discussions that will be moderated by the teacher and industry facilitators.
