Content

The course comprises structure and metabolism of amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids and nuclei acids. Furthermore function and mechanisms of enzymes, replication, transcription, translation, photosynthesis and nitrogen metabolism, cell structures are covered.

Learning outcome

The student shall have an overview of the chemical compounds, which are important building blocks in the cell. The student shall know the basic metabolic pathways. The student shall know the function of different compartments in the cell.
