The course focuses on analyses of return in investment projects, portfolio analysis, cost for capital and processes for management of risk in projects.

Learning outcome

After having taken this course the student should be able to:

· Calculate present value for different types of investment projects.

· Understand the effects of decision makers' attitude to risk on investment decisions.

· Calculate required rate of return of investments base don the capital asset pricing model.

· Identify and describe real options in investment projects.

· Use decision tree to analyze investment projects with uncertainty and flexibility.

· Undertake sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo analysis on investment projects.

· Understand considerations and possible consequences of thechoice of financing
