Contracts - Design and Management (IND610)

In the course the students will acquire fundamental and principal knowledge of the process of entering contract and the subsequent contract administration. The course analyses the life cycle of a procurement contract, from tender evaluation to project closure. After haven taken the course the students should have a fundamental knowledge of prequalification, the tendering process, and contract management.

Evaluation criteria for tenders - organisation and execution of the tender evaluation - negotiations and design of contract - standard contracts - change orders - contract violation - allocation of risk and responsibility between the contracting parties - contract administration - guarantees.

Learning outcome

Knowledge

    • Acquire basic and principled insight into contract conclusion and contract administration. The course looks at the life cycle of a procurement contract from tender evaluation to project completion. After taking the course, students must, among other things, have basic insight into pre-qualification, tendering, evaluation, contract award and contract follow-up.

Skills

    • Knowledge of the implementation of complex procurement

General competence

    • Basic understanding of procurement and administration of contracts over a lifetime
