Course

Internship for Master Students in Humanities (MPRA300)

The course offers students internships in a public or private organization outside of the education sector as part of the MA programmes in History and English and Literacy Studies at the Department of Cultural Studies and Languages (IKS). The internship aims to make students aware of the academic relevance of their studies for work in cultural and social life. Observation, interaction, guidance, and practical exercise will help highlight the job opportunities that the humanities disciplines can provide, and also how humanities subjects and perspectives are essential for the cultural and social sector, citizenship, and societal development. The internship course has limited enrollment and is offered as an elective in the second semester (spring semester of year 1) in the MA programmes in History and English and Literacy Studies at IKS.

Content

Students will have internships in organizations approved by the department, where humanities subjects are central in a regular work situation. The internship period should correspond to a 30% position over 12 weeks, totaling 135 hours. Work hours are agreed directly between each student and the internship organization.
