Content

NB! This is an elective course and may be cancelled if fewer than 10 students are enrolled by January 20th for the spring semester.

To harvest energy resources offshore requires advanced and complicated installations with a large number of different components. Materials with different properties have to be utilized. These materials and fabrication methods are relevant for other industries like offshore wind and ocean farming. We will investigate some of these materials' properties and the effect of production and fabrication, and the metallurgical features associated.

Learning outcome

Master (2. cycle):

A candidate who has completed his or her qualification should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:

The candidate.

  • has advanced knowledge within the selection of offshore materials and specialized insight in steels

Emneevaluering

There must be an early dialogue between the course supervisor, the student union representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester. In addition, a digital course evaluation must be carried out at least every three years. Its purpose is to gather the students experiences with the course.
