Practical Training in Marine and Offshore Technology (OFF690)
This is a practical training course where the student performs work in a company or student project. The registration deadline for the practical training course is 20. August. The application is assessed by the faculty, and approved if the prescribed prerequisites are met. The student is responsible for finding a relevant internship.

A signed contract must be delivered by September 1.
The student must submit a critically reflective report (incl. signed timesheet) on their practical training. If several students work in the same company with similar tasks they can deliver a joint report (up to 3 students). There will also be a conversation about the status in the middle of the training period.
Scope of work: The student should spend 250 - 300 working hours on the course in total. The student must submit a signed timesheet together with the report.
No re-sit opportunities are offered for the report. Students who do not pass the report can retake it the next time the course is held.

Practical training is compulsory. The student has to submit a certified timesheet in order to get the practical training approved. Practical training has to be approved in order to be able to submit a final report and receive assessment in the course.
There must be a formal contract between the practical training institution, the student and UiS. This must be signed and submitted to the course coordinator by September 1st.
