Intermediate Nordic (ETCS 30)

Contents

Entry qualifications: 50ECTS of Nordic at the introductory level according to the new system or "grunnfag" according to the old system. Basically, what is required is the successful completion of a full-time, one-year, first-year-level university course in Nordic. It is expected that students have basic knowledge and understanding of Nordic language and literature, and that they have basic knowledge of the Norwegian language and Nordic language literature. The study shall give an in - depth analysis in limited areas and presentations of problems within Nordic language and literature.

Organisation

There is a separation of two subject levels tied on the one hand to 10 ECTS and on the other to 20 ECTS. Topics of current interest are: The autumn of 2005: Rhetoric and text (10 ECTS) and Sociolinguistics + a paper. The spring of 200: The school's texts (10 ECTS), Literature for young people and the literature young people read + a paper (10 ECTS) .

Objective

The course shall promote the ability to analyse language and text and generally to work independently with questions of a professional character. Students shall also improve / perfect their ability to express themselves in a professionally adequate and convincing way in both versions of Standard Norwegian. The study of each subject field shall improve the ability of independent thought and reflection without prejudice.

Competence at the end of the study

The completion of intermediate level courses will qualify for entry to studies at master's level, and for those with the relevant pedagogical training there will be a wider range of teaching opportunities in both primary and secondary schools.
