Miljø- og energipolitikk (BST210)

Emnet gir en generell innføring i teoretiske perspektiver og stridstemaer i miljø- og energipolitikken, med et særskilt fokus på spenningene mellom produksjon og forbruk av fossile brensler og klimautfordringen. I korthet: Hva betyr Paris avtalen for norsk petroleumspolitikk og framtidig bruk av fossile brensler? Dette stridstemaet drøftes gjennom et fokus på miljøforvaltningens oppbygging og prinsipper, aktører og skillelinjer i miljø- og energipolitikken, virkemidler i miljøpolitikken, internasjonale miljøavtaler og forpliktelser, miljøpolitikkens etiske grunnlag og grønn politisk teori.

 Emnet vil bli undervist på engelsk hvis det er innvekslingsstudenter.

Etter at studentene har fullført emnet vil de ha tilegnet seg følgende kunnskaper, ferdigheter og generell kompetanse:

Kunnskaper

• Studentene vil kunne gjøre rede for sentrale nasjonale og internasjonale miljøpolitiske diskurser samt viktige skillelinjer knyttet til ulike miljø- og energipolitiske posisjoner.
• Videre skal studentene ha inngående kunnskap om utfordringene knyttet til FNs bærekraftsmål, klimaforhandlingene og Paris avtalen, bruken av fossile brensler, karbonfangst og lagring, m.m.

Ferdigheter

• Studentene vil kunne anvende og omsette ulike teoretiske tilnærminger til analyser av norsk og internasjonal miljøpolitikk,
• Studentene vil kunne forholde seg kritisk til og vurdere ulike miljø- og energipolitiske virkemidler og drøfte miljøpolitikkens etiske/normative grunnlag.

Generell kompetanse

• Ferdig utdannede studenter vil kunne bruke disse innsiktene i analyse av miljøpolitiske problemstillinger.
