Course
Cell Biology (BIO100)
The lectures in cell biology will cover the molecular basis for the cell's structure and organization. The students will acquire basic knowledge and understanding of cell biology concepts. Important aspects which will be covered are:
- Structure and function of biomolecules
- The build-up and structure of cells, primarily eukaryotic cells
- The functioning of the different cellular structures/organelles
- Structur and function of biological membranes
- Metabolism and photosynthesis
- How cells communicate
- Control of cell division, cell cycle and cell death
- Transcription and protein synthesis (translation)
