Content

An important part of the course is to show how different presentation forms can help create an overall quality of tourist experiences. Understanding management of the tourist experiences in relation to destination development is crucial here. In addition to course literature, use of national and international cases will help provide an understanding of why the interpretation and experience management can be used effectively as a tool for development of various types of attractions and tourism products. Example of specific course elements:

The main elements of managed visitor attractions,

Goals and strategies for attraction development,

Relationship between attractions and destinations,

Interpretation as a concept and policy, and the use of interpretation as a means to present a phenomena or theme,

Marketing and tourists' individual choice of itineraries,

Attraction clusters,

Dramaturgical understanding and performance management.

Control of the experience process

Events (organized events) and managed visitor attractions

Authenticity

Sustainability of the attraction resources
