Content
Central themes are: basics of machine design (design techniques), standards and norms (codes), measuring units, machine construction materials,
dimensioning principles, failures modes and failure hypotheses; Strength calculation for screw, weld and press joints, fits and tolerances;
dimensioning axles and rotors, springs, bearings; mechanisms and transmission systems; clutches and break systems.
Learning outcome
Upon completing this course, students are expected to have sufficient knowledge about the function of common machine elements and the dimensioning method in solving elementary construction problems.
