Sports activities 1 (IDR132)
The subject provides the students with a basic understanding of selected sports and other activities and how these can be modified to suit different target groups. The lessons will contibute to the development of practical skills and theorethical knowledge, relevant to the sports activities. The students will be introduced to football, handball, basketball, volleyball, dance, gymnastics, basic ball handling and other alternative activities.

Final assessment consists of four parts: a practical exam and a written paper which both are graded from A-F. Basic ball handling and alternative activities are graded as passed/not passed. The final grade is based on the average results from the practical exam and the written paper. All four parts of the assessment must be passed to receive course credits.
Practical exam: The students will draw two of the following activities: dance, gymnastics, basketball, football, handball and volleyball; then carry out a practical lesson of 45 minutes for each activity. The draw will take place four weeks ahead of the date of the exam. The students will demonstrate their own skills, individually and/or in groups, through practical exercises and tasks; and in various playing exercises in ball sports. Assessment criteria will be made available on Canvas at the start-up of each activity at the latest. The students will be tasked to act as participants in each others exams.
The written paper: As background for å written paper containing 2000 words ±10%, the students will choose two of the following activities: dance, gymnastics, basketball, football, handball and volleyball. Contents of the paper: training log with reflections regarding the nature and training of the activities; methodology and progression; interaction with others; and the organisation and facilitation of training and exercise. The paper demands use of curricular litterature and must be written using the APA 6th style of reference. The students can recieve supervision on their papers during the practical lessons. The students must demonstrate 80% physical presence to achieve a PASSING grade in basic ball handling and alternative activities.
