Emne

Kunnskapsgrunnlag i sosialt arbeid og sosialpedagogikk (MSO114)

Emnet skal gi studentene kunnskap og ferdigheter innen fagfeltene sosialt arbeid og sosialpedagogikk. Teorier i og om sosialt arbeid og sosialpedagogikk blir samlet og hver for seg satt inn i en historisk og samfunnsmessig kontekst. Etiske utfordringer og teoretiske perspektiver knyttet til makt som fenomen vil vektlegges, samt sammenhenger mellom makt og myndiggjøring/marginalisering. Et sentralt tema vil være relasjonen mellom praksisfelt, profesjon og forskning. Emnet skal bidra til utviklingen av både refleksiv profesjonspraksis og refleksiv forskning.

Innhold

Sosialt arbeid og sosialpedagogikk deler målet om å utfordre og bekjempe sosial urettferdighet, samtidig som en hjelper mennesker som er i en utsatt samfunnsmessig posisjon. Den historiske opprinnelsen til de to fagene er ulik. Sosialt arbeid startet som praktisk filantropi med sosialpolitisk forankring. God praksis ble senere formulert i teori. Sosialpedagogikk begynte som en teoretisk disiplin, hvor teoretiske ideer senere ble satt ut i praksis. 

Emnet er bygget opp slik at studentene i første fase vil få innblikk i begge fagene. Deretter vil teoretiske perspektiver som er relevante for utøvelse og forskning i fagene trekkes inn. Den siste delen skal bidra til egenutvikling relatert til eget faglige ståsted og forskning.

Læringsutbytte

Kunnskap 

Studenten skal ha inngående kunnskap om:

  • Fagenes historie, utvikling, fellestrekk/egenart og plass i samfunnet.
  • Teorier, praksis og etikk innenfor sosialt arbeid og sosialpedagogikk samt aktuelle problemstillinger.
  • Ulike former for makt og diskriminering.
  • Relevante teoretiske perspektiver, forsknings- og utviklingsarbeid innenfor fagområdene.

Ferdigheter

Studenten skal kunne:

  • Analysere faglige problemstillinger med utgangspunkt i fagområdets historie, tradisjoner, egenart og plass i samfunnet.
  • Analysere og reflektere kritisk over ulike former for makt og diskriminering. 
  • Finne, vurdere og henvise til relevant teori, praksis og forskning innenfor fagområdene.
  • Reflektere kritisk over egen kunnskaps- og forskningstilnærming. 

Generell kompetanse

Studenten skal kunne:

  • Vise innsikt i sentrale fag- og yrkesetiske problemstillinger.
  • Under veiledning, planlegge og gjennomføre arbeidspresentasjoner alene og som deltaker i en gruppe.
  • Fremstille skriftlige arbeider i henhold til akademiske vitenskapelige formkrav

Forkunnskapskrav

Bachelor i barnevern, sosialt arbeid, vernepleier eller annen relevant utdanning.

Konsekvenser av ikke bestått eksamen innen utsatt eksamen:

Dersom studenten ikke består eksamen senest ved utsatt eksamen, innebærer dette at studenten må ta ny eksamen i emnet sammen med etterfølgende kull. Studenten må ta eksamen i henhold til eventuelt ny og revidert emnebeskrivelse for emnet, men avgjør selv om han/hun vil følge undervisning i det nye eksamenssemesteret.
